Description and Symbolism

Two of Pentacles shows a man dressed in red and orange - colors that represent vitality and energy. He is juggling two coins. It is uncertain if he is dancing with ease or struggling to hold his balance. But either way he is looking a bit concerned - or maybe he is just concentrating on his task. The coins are roped in a lemniscate - the symbol for infinity. In the background there are two ships riding on the waves of a turbulent sea. They reinforce the balancing act of the man with the coins.

General Meaning
The number two refers to balance here. Two of Pentacles mostly is about finding the right balance between conflicting interests of one’s life. It could be about the balance you have to keep between work and family for example or taking time for your hobbies without neglecting spending time with your partner. When this card shows up it can be a reminder to reconsider how you divide your attention in different areas of your life or an issue and warn you not to put all your focus on just one thing. It can also represent a state of indecisiveness when you swing back and forth between two options. Lastly, the ups and downs of life can be represented by this card.

In a love reading Two of Pentacles can indicate that it is hard to keep the right balance between your love life and other areas. It can also remind you not to put all your focus on your partner but to also spend time and focus on your own individual life. Sometimes Two of Pentacles can indicate that someone has several options. Maybe you cannot decide between two different persons, or you don't know if you want to stay with a person or not.

If you ask how someone feels for you, Two of Pentacles can indicate that the person in question feels a little torn at the moment. They might not know what their place is right now, so they go back and forth between several options. Another interpretation could be that their feelings aren't stable. They might feel a certain way one day and then their feelings change again.
